Veteran Kenyan radio presenter Edward Kwach, known for his vibrant personality and commanding voice on Spice FM’s #SpiceDrive, tragically passed away on April 28, 2025, at age 52.
While early reports speculated about a severe toothache, it was later confirmed that Kwach succumbed to meningitis—a serious illness affecting the brain and spinal cord.
Kwach’s final weeks were marked by a public appeal for blood donations, led by fellow media icon Caroline Mutoko.
Despite the efforts, his condition worsened, and he died while receiving treatment at Coptic Hospital in Nairobi.
His photos—often showing him smiling in studio, engaging with fans, or sharing moments of joy—are now circulating widely as Kenyans mourn a beloved voice that shaped the airwaves for decades.
Fans, colleagues, and public figures have flooded social media with heartfelt messages, remembering Kwach not just for his talent, but for his warmth, mentorship, and impact on Kenya’s media landscape.
