An SUV owner is calculating his losses after being trapped in the midst of a boda boda mob that burned down their car.
The Audi car owner reportedly hit and killed a motorcyclist on Thika Road, causing a furious reaction from the bikers.
They lit it on fire while the owner watched on helplessly; attempts by firefighters to put out the fire did not assist much, as the damage was already done by the time they arrived with their engine.
An Audi vehicle owner couldn’t help but witness his SUV burnt to ashes, when rouge motorcyclists set it on fire following an accident.
According to eyewitnesses, the cyclists gathered after one of them was struck down and murdered by a car near Kenyatta University.
Ruiru Municipality firefighters responded to help limit the damage, but it was too late. They quenched the fire, revealing the shell of a white SUV that had halted in the middle of the road.
The event occurred following an increasing pattern of attacks on motorists in the Nairobi city. In the past, riders have been seen torching both PSVs and personal automobiles following accidents.
Following the pattern, the police in command intervened to prevent renegade riders from breaking the law.
Earlier this month, Nairobi Regional Police Commander George Seda read the riot act to the riders, saying that law enforcement would not stand by if the motorcyclists continued to break the law.
