Democracy for Citizens (DCP) party leader Rigathi Gachagua took his campaign message to Kiambu where he addressed thousands of residents in a charged political rally. The former deputy president used the platform to outline his party’s vision and to rally support against President William Ruto, whom he referred to by the nickname “Kasongo.”
Gachagua told the gathering that the country’s hope lies with the younger generation. He described Gen Z as a group with the courage and creativity needed to confront the current leadership, which he accused of failing to deliver on promises. According to him, the DCP will build its political future by standing with young people and empowering them to lead.
The Kiambu meeting was marked by energetic chants and applause as Gachagua repeated his message of change. He argued that the current administration has ignored the struggles of ordinary Kenyans, especially the rising cost of living and unemployment. He urged voters to prepare for what he termed a new political wave that will be driven by the youth.
Supporters in Kiambu responded warmly, many of them waving party colors and chanting pro-DCP slogans. The event also drew a significant number of young people, highlighting the central role of Gen Z in Gachagua’s political movement.
Gachagua insisted that DCP is not just another party but a movement to restore accountability and fairness in government. He said his mission is to confront “Kasongo” head-on and offer Kenyans an alternative that listens to their needs.
