Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has confirmed that the Jubilee Party will field candidates for all elective positions in Kenya’s 2027 General Election. The announcement came during the party’s National Delegations Conference (NDC) in Nairobi on September 26, 2025.
Uhuru emphasized that Jubilee remains committed to the Azimio La Umoja Coalition despite departures by some founding member parties. He noted that the party shares the coalition’s original vision and goals, which continue to guide its political strategy and alliances.
Speaking at the NDC, Uhuru highlighted that the coalition has undergone significant changes over the years. However, Jubilee’s organs have resolved that the party will remain a member unless a future assessment recommends otherwise.
He clarified that any decision on whether Jubilee should exit the coalition would be made by the party’s new leadership when necessary. For now, the party’s focus is on electoral preparations and strengthening internal structures.
Jubilee intends to field candidates for all six elective posts in the upcoming elections. Uhuru indicated that the party may collaborate with like-minded political movements to enhance its performance and electoral competitiveness nationwide.
The former president stressed the importance of presenting capable leaders with the right qualities to drive national change. He emphasized that the party aims to offer citizens meaningful choices aligned with democratic ideals and constitutional principles.
Uhuru expressed hope that a revitalized Jubilee Party would achieve two outcomes: provide a platform for visionary leaders and present voters with a diverse range of leadership options in line with the democratic process.
The NDC highlighted the party’s strategy to prepare for the 2027 elections through careful planning, candidate selection, and potential coalition-building. Jubilee is positioning itself to optimize performance while retaining a presence within Azimio.
