Today, reports indicate that cracks may be emerging within the United Opposition after fresh disagreements between key leaders.
Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has accused DCP Party leader Rigathi Gachagua of secretly working with President William Ruto.
Tensions deepened after Gachagua skipped the recent Jubilee Party NDC meeting, where former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i made an appearance. Matiang’i is expected to formally join Jubilee, despite warnings from Gachagua.
The rift was further highlighted in Kitengela when Gachagua allegedly failed to acknowledge Matiang’i during a rally.
Despite these divisions, opposition leaders maintain they are committed to fielding a single candidate in the 2027 General Election.
