President William Ruto’s aide, Farouk Kibet, has criticized the opposition for focusing too much on divisive politics instead of presenting constructive ideas. Speaking at PAG Tuiyogaa Church in Turbo Constituency, Uasin Gishu County, Farouk said that Kenyans are more interested in unity and development than political squabbles.

He pointed out that the opposition’s obsession with removing “Kasongo” distracts from the real issues, noting that most citizens are unaware of who Kasongo is. He emphasized that any attempt to divide the country along tribal lines would fail.
Farouk encouraged Kenyans to support government programs, including enrollment in the Social Health Authority (SHA) scheme, which he said provides families with affordable healthcare. He also expressed confidence that President Ruto would secure a second term, despite the United Opposition led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua trying to unseat him in the 2027 general elections.
During the event, Farouk was joined by several leaders who praised President Ruto’s leadership, highlighting his equitable distribution of national resources. Uriri MP Mark Nyamita commended the government’s progress over the past three years, stressing that the opposition has not offered a better alternative.
Farouk also raised concerns about rising drug and alcohol abuse in the region, warning that it is negatively affecting families and young people. He called on local security teams to intensify crackdowns on illegal alcohol distribution. Health and Professional Standards Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni also urged communities, religious leaders, and county officials to work together to combat substance abuse.
The event was attended by Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, Turbo MP Janet Sitienei, and MCA Nicholas Rende, among other leaders, who reaffirmed their support for the government’s initiatives and efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.
