A fundraiser organized by President William Ruto earned more than KSh 163 million for education in Mandera county.
The money will support ten Madrasas under the Eltabashi Educational Trust, enabling youngsters from vulnerable homes to access learning opportunities.
The Nairobi gathering brought together government officials, corporate actors, religious leaders, and young entrepreneurs in a rare display of support for education.
The program would use the funding to help ten madrasas in Mandera county. The event received national attention, with President William Ruto leading political, corporate, and religious leaders in what was regarded as a significant demonstration of togetherness aimed at boosting education in Northern Kenya.
Ruto stated that the country’s growth is determined by children’s access to education, which he describes as the cornerstone for equality, empowerment, and prosperity.
“We applaud the Eltabashi Educational Trust for its dedication to helping vulnerable children in Northern Kenya gain access to education,” according to the president.
“The more education is made available to our youngsters, the more powerful, equal, and prosperous we will become. “We reaffirmed our collective commitment to education as the foundation of opportunity and progress,” Ruto said.
Mandera Governor Mohamed Adan announced that the project raised KSh 163,218,000, which will be used to support the 10 madrasas.
He thanked all contributors, adding the generosity will go a long way toward uplifting needy students. “We appreciate the Almighty Allah (SWT) for allowing us to raise these amounts. “Thank you, William Ruto, for your generous support,” he stated.
