Siaya Governor James Orengo has announced that the Local Authorities Pension Trust (LAPFUND) has committed Ksh 5 million as a Silver Partner for the upcoming Siaya International Trade and Investment Conference (SITICO 2025).
Speaking after receiving the sponsorship, Orengo described the partnership as both a financial boost and a strong endorsement of the county’s vision to position itself as a hub for trade, investment, and inclusive growth.
“LAPFUND has also expressed interest in working with us on strategic projects, particularly in housing, as we pursue our mission of transforming livelihoods across Siaya,” the governor said.
He added that the collaboration is anchored in shared goals of empowering farmers, women, and youth, while accelerating value-chain development to unlock opportunities for local communities.
SITICO 2025, set to run from October 14th to 17th, is expected to bring together government leaders, private sector players, and local communities to co-create pathways for sustainable growth and development.
“With partners like LAPFUND, we are building a future of lasting prosperity for Siaya and beyond,” Orengo noted.
The conference will mark the second edition of SITICO, with organizers promising a robust platform for investment deals, trade linkages, and policy dialogue aimed at boosting Siaya’s economic potential.
