
Governor Mutuma on Sunday, September 21, joined residents of Thangatha Ward for the Nyankine Thanksgiving Crusade, reflecting on the values of gratitude and service.In his address, Governor Mutuma emphasized that his administration’s ongoing development initiatives are rooted in this spirit of service.
Among the key achievements highlighted was the transformation of healthcare services in the county. Governor Mutuma noted the successful installation of a state-of-the-art 64-slice CT Scan machine at Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Plans are also underway to elevate the facility to Level VI status, positioning it as a premier Regional Referral Hospital for the entire region.
The governor also spoke about efforts to drive urban growth, particularly the ongoing project to elevate Meru Town to full city status.
Achieving this milestone, he explained, would unlock additional national resources for the county, boosting development not only in Meru Town but also in other municipalities, including Mikinduri, Nkubu, and Maua.
Governor Mutuma credited the county’s progress to peace and unity among leaders, which has positioned Meru as the fourth-ranking county nationally in development.He emphasized that this stability is attracting investors and creating sustainable growth for all residents.
The governor was accompanied by a dedicated team, including the First Lady Miriam Cherotich Mutuma, Deputy Governor Lindah Kiome, Nominated MP Hon. Muthoni Ikiara, CECMs, the County Attorney, and Members of the County Assembly led by Minority Leader Hon. Mwenda Ithili.
Mutuma added by urging residents and leaders alike to continue working in unity, stating that collaboration and shared responsibility remain central to achieving lasting development in Meru County.
