United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Omar Hassan has called on the Kenyan government to immediately suspend all trade with Israel and officially designate the country as a terrorist state.
Speaking on Monday, Hassan argued that Kenya’s economic and diplomatic engagements with Israel contradict moral and humanitarian considerations, particularly in light of the ongoing conflict in Palestine.
Hassan stated that continued trade and cooperation with Israel amounts to tacit support for actions he described as violent and oppressive against Palestinian civilians.
“Kenya must take a principled stand. By continuing trade and relations, we are indirectly condoning atrocities. It is time to designate Israel as a terrorist state and halt all commercial transactions immediately,” he asserted during a public address.
The UDA Secretary General’s statements come amid growing public debate over Kenya’s foreign policy and its stance on international conflicts. Analysts note that such calls could have significant implications for diplomatic relations, trade agreements, and Kenya’s position in regional and global forums.
He also called on civil society groups, religious leaders, and human rights advocates to join in lobbying for decisive action.
While the Kenyan government has not officially responded to these calls, Hassan emphasised that immediate action is necessary to uphold national integrity and human rights principles.
