
Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has released a notice informing customers across several regions of planned power interruptions scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
In a message shared on its X account on Monday evening, the utility firm said the scheduled outages are part of routine maintenance works aimed at enhancing the reliability of electricity supply.
In Nairobi, parts of Kileleshwa including Githunguri Road, Githunguri Close, Tabere Crescent, Kangundo Road, and Kuguru Close will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Machakos County will also be affected, with extensive outages expected along Kangundo Road covering areas such as Miwani, Manza, Mumbuni, Kathiani, Ngoleni, and Mitaboni, among others, within the same hours.
In the North Rift, parts of Uasin Gishu County including Lorwa Village, Kamoiywa, and Kipsangui will face a blackout from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Western Kenya is not spared, as residents in Vihiga County around Kinu Market, Kapkerer, Ivola, and Gambogi will experience interruptions between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Similarly, in South Nyanza, Homabay County areas such as Rodi, Marram, and Marindi Market will be off-grid between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In the Mt. Kenya region, parts of Murang’a, Nyeri, Meru, Isiolo, and Kirinyaga counties will be affected, including Njiris, Witima, Kaithe, Isiolo Town, and Kiamutugu. Outages here will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
At the Coast, Kwale’s Galu and Sonrisa areas, as well as several parts of Mombasa and Kilifi counties, including Mtongwe, Moi Avenue, and Vipingo, will also be under the schedule.
KPLC customers in the listed areas are advised to prepare accordingly as KPLC technicians carry out maintenance work.
