Detectives from the directorate of criminal investigations (DCI) in collaboration with CCIO and CPC Kisumu, arrested eight police officers and placed them in custody at Kisumu Central Police Station.

The vehicle was later recovered by the DCIs, it had been abandoned at Maseno Shopping Centre and returned to the station yard as per the station records.
The officers arrested in connection with the incident were identified as PC Shaban Omar, PC Stanley Kosgei, PC Fredric Lubatse, PC Harrison Muchiri, PC Charles Mutahi, PC Jackson Lugadili, PC Elphas Sigoi, and PC Isaac Kipgeno. They remain in custody awaiting interrogation as the case continues to be investigated.
Their arrest sparked mixed reactions from section of Kenyans who took to their different social media platforms to speak on this.
According to the reports given by most Kenyans, the suspects ought to be charged in a court of law due to the fact that they were given the responsibility of protecting Kenyans instead of stealing from them.
Maina John.. These are the same people who were are hoping are protecting us. But again, they don’t get paid well so let them make a little more money from their side jobs.
Emma Njeri… What do you mean let them make money from their side job. They should be charged in a court of law just like any other citizen in the country. No excuses, they should be dealt with.
