Former Dagorreti South Member of Parliament Dennis Waweru has sharply criticized Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s administration for focusing on public relations stunts rather than addressing the city’s pressing issues.
Waweru pointed out that while Sakaja showcased images of clean streets in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD), the city’s back streets remain neglected, with uncollected garbage and poor infrastructure.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, September 25, 2025, Waweru expressed his concerns, stating, “Sakaja Johnson MUST stop PR stunts, he is busy taking pictures of one street in the CBD while uncollected heaps of garbage in 85 Wards are choking Nairobians.”
He further emphasized the disparity between the governor’s publicized efforts and the reality faced by residents.
Waweru’s remarks highlight the ongoing challenges in Nairobi’s urban management and the need for comprehensive solutions that address all areas of the city.
His call for action underscores the importance of prioritizing the welfare of residents over superficial appearances.
