A Kenya police officer has caught the attention of social media users after burning his uniform over Pay and Promotion.
A video shared by NTV Kenya shows the alleged police officer burning his uniform while at the same time, explaining why he decided to take action.
“I have not gotten any promotion since I started serving in the National Police Service 6 years ago . The pay is not enough, i have not been paid for 2 years even though my mother is very sick. I can’t take care of her. I decided to burn by uniform and quit because I also tried to use the right process to quit, they refused” He said.
His remarks caught the attention of section of Kenyans who called upon the National Police Service to address his concern ;Ann Njoroge… “The National Police Service should speak on this as soon as possible because as you can see, he is tired and maybe has gotten to a point where he can’t handle the situation in any other way. “
According to the reports given by most Kenyans, this is one of the main reason why majority of Police officers end up in crime.
Peter Kimani :” You wonder why police officers are engaging in all sorts of crime. You can’t live without a salary if you are working. Let the man resign in peace, pay him his money before it gets out of hand.
We have all seen what happens when Police officers get depressed. But again, i also don’t think that burning his uniform was the right thing to do because he might be arrested.
