Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Monday, September 22, hosted a group of vibrant young leaders from Kirinyaga County at his Wamunyoro residence. The meeting was marked not only by meaningful conversations but also by a symbolic gesture, as the youth presented him with Dorper sheep as a gift.
The courtesy call, which brought together energetic young men and women from various sectors in Kirinyaga, provided a platform for dialogue on leadership, innovation, and the role of the youth in shaping Kenya’s future.
Gachagua described the exchange as refreshing, noting that the ideas and perspectives shared reflected a generation eager to drive meaningful change in society.
“Their insights, vibrant energy, and commitment to positive change were truly inspiring,” he said, adding that youth remain Kenya’s most valuable resource.
He further emphasized that with young people making up a significant portion of the nation’s population, strategic investments in their development are essential.
Gachagua pointed out that harnessing the creativity and determination of the youth is central to unlocking Kenya’s growth potential. He encouraged them to continue championing innovation, community service, and accountability as they aspire to leadership roles.
The gifting of Dorper sheep, a hardy, commercially valued breed, carried strong symbolism, representing growth, resilience, and prosperity.
The gesture was met with appreciation from Gachagua, who described it as a mark of friendship and shared vision for a stronger future.
The opposition allies have, however, warned the Wiper boss from involving with Ruto saying the move will alienate the electorates.
Led by Machakos DG Francis Mwangangi, argued that several politicians have historically aligned themselves with Kalonzo for personal political gain, only to abandon the region’s development agenda once elected.
