
A family in Syokimau, Machakos is demanding answers after their 11-year-old daughter drowned and died during a swimming training session at school.
The deceased who has been identified as Jael Nabalayo is reported to have drowned in an incident that was caught on CCTV.
A video that is currently making rounds on social media platforms shows the school’s swimming guard pulling the body of the deceased from the swimming pool.
The father, Zachariah Nabalayo expressed his concern stating that the deceased who was their last born died on the 11th of September, he went on to say that they are going to move to court once she is buried.
Zachariah Nabalayo : “They had a swimming training session that ended with the tragic death of my daughter, she was in the water for more than a minute before her body was found underneath the water. We were called by the school and when we arrived, we found out that she was already dead.
We are going to bury her on September 27, 2025 after which we are going to move to court in order to find out what happened because it is so painful to lose a child in such an incident.”
Kenyans who took to their different social media platforms to speak on this sent their condolences to the family and friends of Joel, they also claimed that the school management is to Blame due to the fact that they were in charge of all the students who were in the school.
A legal representative who spoke about the incident noted that the school was cooperating with the authority as investigation continues.
