A Kenyan man has captured public attention after driving a self-made car along a busy highway yesterday, demonstrating remarkable ingenuity and engineering skills.
The car, reportedly constructed using locally sourced materials and improvised components, has sparked widespread interest on social media and in local news circles.
Eyewitnesses described the vehicle as unconventional, with a distinct frame, customised engine, and creative use of everyday items for its interior and bodywork.
“It was incredible to see someone driving a car they built themselves. People were taking photos and videos; it’s not something you see every day,” said a motorist who witnessed the scene near Thika Road.
John Mwangi revealed that the project took him over two years to complete, combining his passion for mechanics with a desire to innovate affordable transportation solutions for ordinary Kenyans.
“I wanted to prove that with determination and creativity, we can build functional vehicles without relying on imported cars. Safety and performance were my main priorities,” he explained.
Preliminary reports indicate that while the car is operational, further modifications may be required before it can be officially registered for regular road use.
