Orange Democratic Movement party leader, Honorable Raila Odinga has called upon Kenyans to support President William Ruto as he discharges his duties.
The renowned politician who recounted the deaths of Kenyans Killed During the protests against the proposed 2024 finance bill, explained that ODM had to join the Broad based government because the country was heading to the wrong direction.
He also explained that one of the main reason why the Kenya Defence Forces soldiers who were deployed in the streets were civil is because they had not received any instructions from the President.
According to the reports given by the former prime minister of Kenya, if that happened, the military would have executed their duties.

You saw the Kenya Defence Forces on the streets, they were civil because they had not been given instructions. Once the military are given instructions by the Chief of Defence Forces, they execute and we were almost there. We decided to join UDA because leadership can be changed through the ballot rather than the bullet. “
He also revealed that he does not regret joining the Broad based government arguing that a government with shortcomings is better than a collapsed government.
Section of Kenyans who reacted to his remarks thanked him for standing up for Kenyans adding that it was the right thing to do.
