Political analyst Nelson Amenya has launched a scathing attack on ODM leader Raila Odinga following his recent remarks about the controversial Adani deal at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). In a fiery post on X, Amenya accused Raila of hiding behind the image of a liberator while pushing questionable deals that threaten Kenya’s future.
Amenya dismissed Raila’s claims that Parliament was to blame for scuttling the Adani investment, insisting that the deal itself was flawed from the beginning. “Nobody ever paid me to expose the deal. Every single red flag I pointed out was true. If they really cared for the airport, why don’t they do a proper tendering process?” Amenya wrote.
He argued that JKIA remains one of the most profitable airports in Africa and would easily attract competent investors if transparent bidding was conducted. According to Amenya, the renewed push for Adani’s involvement is nothing more than an attempt to sneak the company back through the back door.
“He’s only making noise so that they can sneak Adani back in so they don’t have to refund the bribes,” Amenya alleged, suggesting that powerful interests were behind the resurfacing of the project.
In a blunt and personal swipe, Amenya told the former Prime Minister to step aside from active politics, saying: “Go home old man, you are in your sunset years. Spend them with your family, not destroying our future.”
The outspoken critic concluded his tirade by branding Raila “the conman of the century,” a remark that has already ignited heated debate online, with Kenyans sharply divided over Raila’s recent defense of the Adani deal.
