Bungoma residents can breathe a sigh of relief after police officers made a major breakthrough in the fight against crime, arresting seven suspects linked to a wave of electronic thefts in the region.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the suspects were nabbed on the night of Saturday, September 20, during a routine patrol conducted by officers attached to Bungoma Police Station. The patrol team became suspicious after spotting a group of men ferrying household items and electronic goods under unusual circumstances.
Upon interception, the officers discovered a consignment of electronics believed to have been stolen from recent burglaries in the area. The haul included television sets, music systems, microwaves, and other valuable household gadgets.
The suspects were immediately taken into custody for questioning. During interrogation, the seven men reportedly confessed to being part of a larger theft syndicate operating within Bungoma and its outskirts. They went on to reveal the existence of hideouts where additional stolen property was concealed.
