Police have arrested 8 students following an incident that led to the destruction of Properties at Litein Boy’s High School.
A report by Citizen tv revealed that the Ministry of Education closed Litein Boys’ High School after students went on a destructive rampage, setting parts of the school on fire on Sunday night.
The unrest allegedly began after the administration denied the students an opportunity to watch the much-anticipated English Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester City.
Sources revealed that the school management refused to allow the students to watch the match, a move that caught the attention of several Kenyans who also took to their different social media platforms to express their concern.
According to the reports given by majority of Kenyans, parents of the students who were involved in the destruction of school property should be made to pay.
Esther Mwai… The parents of the students who were involved in the destruction of the school property should pay for it. This is one of the main reason why you should tell your children to avoid doing certain things just because others are doing. Now they are going to part with huge amounts of money just because the children could not listen.
They also called upon the government government under President William Ruto to re-introduce Corporal punishment stating that this is the only way in which students are going to be disciplined.
Erin Mboowa “I think that the government should introduce caning in schools. As you can see, what is it that made them burn the school, a mere match that they would have watched the replay. Kids are not disciplined.”
