
Police in Kiambu County are investigating the death of Stephen Njoroge who was allegedly stabbed to death by his cousin following a quarrel over a football match, an incident that took place in Gituamba village.
A report by KTN News revealed that the suspect, James Mbugua who is currently on the run attacked the deceased killing him on the spot.
The two had a misunderstanding over Man U VS Chelsea match that had just ended before the tragic incident. The body of the Njoroge was taken to the mortuary by Police who visited the scene of the incident after being alerted by some of the residents who witnessed the murder.
Family members who regretted the incident claimed that the two might have been drunk at the time of murder adding that alcohol is to Blame. They also expressed their shock stating that the suspect and the deceased are both cousins who started arguing as a joke before it turned tragic.
The deceased, Njoroge was described as a kind, loving and a Jovial person who loved peace, did not bother anyone.
“Njoroge was a very kind man who did not disturb anyone. What happened has shocked us because the two are cousins. I think that all of this was brought by alcohol because once someone takes alcohol, it affects how their decision making, they did not even argue, it is something that just got out of hand ” Family members.
Police who spoke about the murder stated that they are currently searching for the prime suspect who they said fled from the crime scene after killing the deceased whose body was found lying in a pool of blood.
