Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has discreetly indicated that Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka, should abandon the opposition and join the Kenya Kwanza camp, as suspicion builds that the former deputy president may ally with President William Ruto.
Murkomen made a pointed statement during a Sunday service at AIC Milimani, appearing to accept Kalonzo as the key guy to carry the opposition’s flag.
However, Murkomen discreetly suggested that Kalonzo join the ruling administration by extending an offer for unity.
The CS particularly mentioned Kalonzo’s links with the AIC church, which Ruto attends, as a reason why the two leaders should work together.
“William Ruto, who belongs to the AIC church, will run in the elections. “And the person leading the opposition is from the AIC church,” Murkomen explained. “So, if you have the capacity, please bring us together. “So we can work together.”
Murkomen is the latest leader to bring up the possibility of Kalonzo leaving the opposition movement, despite the Wiper Patriotic Front chairman consistently stating that he would never partner with Ruto’s government, which he notoriously labeled as “blood-based”.
Kalonzo repeated his stance in one of his most recent remarks on September 7, warning fellow opposition leaders not to deviate from their shared objective.
