Prominent Advocate of the High Court and political commentator Wahome Thuku has once again stirred conversations with a thought-provoking message on the ever-changing nature of politics.
In a post shared on his official Facebook account on Saturday, September 27, 2025, Thuku reflected on the unpredictability of political alignments, citing past experiences to demonstrate how quickly loyalties can shift.
He recalled the case of Njeri Kinuthia Hinga, who in 2021 was traveling across the United States, dressed in yellow, in a bid to drum up support for then Deputy President William Samoei Ruto.
According to Thuku, Hinga’s political journey has since taken a full turn, underscoring his belief that politics is never static.
I keep telling people to walk slowly. “Siasa haitakangi mbio,” He emphasized that political enthusiasm often blinds supporters from seeing the bigger picture.
By rushing to declare loyalty or enmity, he argued, many risk being embarrassed when the political tide inevitably shifts.
Thuku, who is also an ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, predicted that the political landscape will undergo massive changes within the next year.
By September 2026, the landscape will be so different, you will not believe you were the same person posting what you are posting today, he added.
His remarks come at a time when the 2027 general election realignments are beginning to shape up, reminding Kenyans that in politics, patience and caution remain the wisest strategies.
