ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has spoken out loud and clear on social media as party leader Raila Odinga presided over a crucial ODM Parliamentary Group meeting in Machakos County.
Sifuna, who is known for using tough language and never fearing anyone, chose to utilise his X account to inform Kenyans about what was going on during the meeting while also demonstrating that the party is still alive and unified. The conference included ODM Members of Parliament, senators, and numerous other party leaders.
The meeting’s objective was to strengthen the party, establish unity, and prepare for future political fights.Raila Odinga, who has borne ODM on his shoulders for many years, chaired the gathering. He discussed with the leaders the importance of discipline, unity, and loyalty. He told them that adversaries from the outside aim to damage ODM, but they must remain strong and protect the cause.
On X, Edwin Sifuna courageously wrote to inform Kenyans that ODM is not divided as some have said. He expressed confidence that the conference in Machakos demonstrated that ODM is still strong, breathing, and standing firm in Kenyan politics. His statements were a direct response to those who believe ODM is over or is dying after losing the recent election.Sifuna also expressed respect and support for Raila Odinga in his statement.
He made it obvious that ODM members continue to follow Baba, and Raila remains the leader who governs them. For Sifuna, the Machakos gathering demonstrated that ODM is well-prepared for the next days, particularly the 2027 national elections. Many Kenyans responded to his post. Some complimented him for being courageous in defending ODM. Others still questioned whether the party has a clear orientation.
