Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Honourable Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka. He has reacted to the Presidential elections outcome in Malawi whereby Honourable Peter Mutharika defeated Lazarus Chakwera.
While addressing the residents of Makueni on Sunday Evening. Kalonzo Musyoka was on record saying that the same thing that happened in Malawi, it will soon happen in Kenya.
In a resounding display of democratic resilience, Kenya’s veteran opposition leader Kalonzo Musyoka hailed the outcome of Malawi’s 2025 presidential election as a triumph for the African spirit of accountability and peaceful power transitions.
As preliminary results trickled in, revealing a nail-biting contest between incumbent Lazarus Chakwera of the Malawi Congress Party and challenger Peter Mutharika of the Democratic Progressive Party, Musyoka urged both camps to eschew premature victory claims that had sparked tensions, drawing from his own nation’s hard-won lessons in electoral integrity.
“Malawi’s voters, battered by economic storms and drought’s cruel bite, have spoken with courage,” he declared in a Nairobi press briefing on September 21, emphasizing the need for swift, transparent certification by the Malawi Electoral Commission to avert the unrest that marred past polls.
Musyoka, a steadfast advocate for regional solidarity, pledged Wiper Party support for Malawi’s incoming leadership, calling on the African Union to bolster post-election reconciliation efforts.
His words, laced with empathy for Malawi’s 21 million souls grappling with inflation and poverty, underscored a broader vision: that true sovereignty blooms not in ballots alone, but in the harmonious dawn that follows.
